The unidentified victim of the shooting is still being treated at an area hospital, said Sgt. Fred Neiman, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office previously said the incident involved a man who suffered a gunshot wound to his pelvis.
At about 9:45 a.m. Friday, a patrol deputy was in the parking lot of the casino, 1 Cowlitz Way at the La Center junction, when the deputy heard squealing tires and a crash on the frontage road leading to the casino, according to the sheriff’s office.

Upon investigating, deputies found a crashed silver Chevrolet pickup with the injured driver inside. The victim’s name was not released.
Neiman said the man and a passenger, who left the scene while police were investigating, were never inside the casino, and were not going to or coming from it.
“There is no concern to the public,” the sergeant said.
LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas police report multiple arrests have been made in connection with recent shootings near the Las Vegas Strip.
The Las Vegas Police Department responded to a shooting in the 300 block of East Tropicana Avenue on Sept. 26 at about 2:20 a.m.
Gang detectives identified 26-year-old Morris Fields as a wanted person in connection with the incident on East Tropicana Avenue.
The investigation revealed that a fight broke out on a party bus and Fields pulled out a gun and shot a person while the bus pulled over a parking lot.
The person injured was transported to the University Medical Center for treatment.
Police said Fields was located on Sept. 28. He was booked for one count of battery with the use of a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm, and one count of discharging a gun where a person might be endangered.
LVMPD also responded to a shooting outside a casino in the 4000 block of South Linq Lane on Sept. 26 at around 3:30 a.m.
Gang detectives identified 23-year-old Qiwon Whittiker, 21-year-old Donald Zackery, and 28-year-old Lee Owens as the wanted people in the incident.
Police say the three were part of a group that was in a fight and they tracked the man they were involved with to that location. They then shot in that person's direction after a confrontation.
The targeted man was not hurt but three bystanders were injured in the shooting and transported to UMC for treatment, according to police.
Detectives were also able to locate and arrest Whittaker, Zackery and Owens in connection with the South Linq Lane incident on Sept. 28.
The trio was transported to the Clark County Detention Center where they each face one count of conspiracy to commit murder, with Zackery also facing one count of own or possess a firearm by a prohibited person.
